Volunteer Opportunities

Baldwin teachers and staff need volunteers to help with various events and duties throughout the year. Here is a partial list of those needs:

Art Department Helpers

Assist in hanging and taking down artwork in school hallways throughout the year as needed by art teacher; assist in collecting and organizing orders for the Art Department fundraiser.

Box Tops For Education

Responsible for sending in clipped box tops and assisting with prize drawings during morning assembly.

CATCH Committee

(Coordinated Approach To Children's Health) Work with PE Teacher and a committee of 4-5 people to assist with organizing Track & Field days, Family Fitness Night and other programs (Walk to School-Bike to School).

Cafeteria Monitors

Need many volunteers who will help students in the cafeteria during 30-minute lunch periods. Volunteers help open milk cartons and snack bags, distribute napkins and condiments, etc. Great opportunity to get to know our Bobcats during this relaxed and casual time of day.

Fifth Grade Graduation

Assist with planning the 5th grade graduation ceremony; coordinate with 4th grade parents for the graduation reception; and other related needs and events.

Kinder Round Up 

In April, assist office with Kinder Round-Up – a one day event that allows parents of incoming kindergartners to register students and tour school.

Library Programs Coordinator

Work with the school librarian to plan, organize and assist the school’s library programs.

Literacy Library

Work with the school librarian and reading specialist to organize and monitor the Literacy Library. Ensure that books are organized and being checked in/out properly throughout the year.

Lost & Found

Maintain and periodically donate all unclaimed Lost & Found items.

 

 

Music Department Helpers

Assist Music teachers in stage decorations of musical performances throughout the year.

Office Assistants

Office Volunteers answer phones, sign-in visitors, file, distribute mail and urgent messages to classrooms/teachers and various other clerical projects.

Picture Day Coordinator

Assist photographers in organizing students for pictures in the fall and spring.

Science Fair

Work with science teachers to organize annual Science Fair held in the early spring; responsible for accepting entries, setting up showcase, and securing judges for event.

Classroom Help

Room parent, co-room parent, reading helper, copy and laminating help, field trip chaperone and much more.
