Principal Jennifer Murray

I am the proud principal of Baldwin Elementary School!  I am so excited to lead such an amazing school into the 21st century as we explore, imagine, and create each and every day!  I have been in education for about 22 years.  I have had the opportunity to teach 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade over 15 years, instructional facilitator for 3 years, and an administrator for 4 years.  It is the most rewarding job ever and I love coming to work each and every day.  My family has lived in Austin, Chicago, Plano, and then back to Austin.  We currently live in Dripping Springs, Texas where I have spent the last 10 years working.

My family consists of my husband, James who I have had the absolute pleasure of being married to for the last 23 years!  Together we have 3 children.  My oldest son, Garrett is a junior at Texas Tech studying business.  He absolutely loves it up there and has embraced the history and traditions of the school.  My middle child, Zachary is 16 and a junior at Dripping Springs High School.  He plays football and baseball and loves every minute of it.  In addition, he is taking dual credit classes and remains very busy! My daughter, Mackenzie is 14 and a freshmen at Dripping Springs High.  She plays both school volleyball and golf as well as select volleyball.  I guess you know what I do in my free time.  I am their biggest fan and love watching them play every chance I get!

I hope to have created an environment where all children feel safe, both physically and academically.  I want children to embrace learning and take risks everyday as we prepare them for the future.  At the same time I want children to be children - allowing them to explore and play is an important part of who they are now and in the future.  I am proud of our school and I invite each of you to come visit Baldwin - you will be amazed at what you see!

AP.jpgIt is with great enthusiasm that I join the Baldwin community as your new Assistant Principal. I look forward to supporting families and staff as we partner to continue providing a learner-centered education inspiring all children to reach their potential.

I have lived and taught in the Austin and Dripping Springs area for over 25 years. I have had the privilege of teaching Pre-K, kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade for 15 years, an instructional facilitator for 6 years and an administrator for 5 years. I love what I do and appreciate every opportunity I have had, and continue to have, to learn and to grow.

I have been married to my husband, Howard, for 26 years and we have two daughters, Kelsi and Kylie.  Kelsi is getting her Masters Degree in Medical Administration through Trinity University.  She is currently interning at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and will graduate this December.  Kylie recently graduated from Samford University with a degree in Marketing with a Social Entrepreneurship concentration.  She currently works for Samford University in the admissions office as an admissions counselor.  We get together as often as we can and love to hike and travel.

As your assistant principal, it is my goal to ensure everyone feels valued, loved, and has a sense of belonging.  It is important that we value and nurture the whole child, meeting each student at their respective learning and emotional levels, and to nurture and guide each in achieving their potential.  I feel particularly passionate about helping students and staff  take academic risks that push beyond their perceived limits which will enable them to discover who they are capable of becoming.
