Principal Jennifer Murray

I am the proud principal of Baldwin Elementary School!  I am so excited to lead such an amazing school into the 21st century as we explore, imagine, and create each and every day!  I have been in education for about 22 years.  I have had the opportunity to teach 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade over 15 years, instructional facilitator for 3 years, and an administrator for 4 years.  It is the most rewarding job ever and I love coming to work each and every day.  My family has lived in Austin, Chicago, Plano, and then back to Austin.  We currently live in Dripping Springs, Texas where I have spent the last 10 years working.

My family consists of my husband, James who I have had the absolute pleasure of being married to for the last 23 years!  Together we have 3 children.  My oldest son, Garrett is a junior at Texas Tech studying business.  He absolutely loves it up there and has embraced the history and traditions of the school.  My middle child, Zachary is 16 and a junior at Dripping Springs High School.  He plays football and baseball and loves every minute of it.  In addition, he is taking dual credit classes and remains very busy! My daughter, Mackenzie is 14 and a freshmen at Dripping Springs High.  She plays both school volleyball and golf as well as select volleyball.  I guess you know what I do in my free time.  I am their biggest fan and love watching them play every chance I get!

I hope to have created an environment where all children feel safe, both physically and academically.  I want children to embrace learning and take risks everyday as we prepare them for the future.  At the same time I want children to be children - allowing them to explore and play is an important part of who they are now and in the future.  I am proud of our school and I invite each of you to come visit Baldwin - you will be amazed at what you see!

Assistant Principal Amber Reue

I’m Mrs. Reue and I am so excited to be a part of the Baldwin Family as one of your Assistant Principals! Education is my passion. I have been teaching for 23 years and have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades. For 12 of these years, I had the honor of working with Texas State University in the Teacher Fellows Graduate Program coaching first-year teachers. Within these years, I mentored 39 first-year teachers, kindergarten through fifth grade, so I am familiar with all of the elementary gradelevels. I have also worked in professional development for novice teachers and their mentors.  I enjoy seeing people learn, grow, and accomplish their goals. There will be many celebrations as you learn, grow, and accomplish your goals too! Elementary school is the best! I am so glad to be a Baldwin Bobcat!

My family is very important to me. You will often hear me tell stories about things going on in my life, so I would like to introduce you to my family: My husband, James, is a software engineer and my best friend. We like to hang out together and cheer on our kids. My son Cade is in tenth grade this year. He loves video games, playing golf on his high school golf team, and playing the saxophone in the marching band. My daughter Camille is in eighth grade. She loves running, tennis, and volleyball and dances on the school dance team. My Golden Retriever, Daisy, will be two in October and loves to swim in the pool, go on long walks, and sleep! She also loves people, cats, and other dogs.

I am honored to work with the families and staff of Baldwin Elementary as we partner to support students in a learner-centered environment where all children can reach their potential.

Assistant Principal Alexandra Hassett

Hello! My name is Alex Hassett and I am elated to join the Bobcat community and serve as one of your assistant principals this year!

I am truly a lifelong learner and am passionate about ensuring that all our students have equitable access to rigorous, personalized learning. I graduated in May from The University of Texas, Texas Principal Leadership Academy with my Masters of Educational Leadership and Policy and was a member of the Austin ISD principal residency program. Over the past year, I had the incredible opportunity to “student-teach” under the principals at Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy and Kocurek Elementary. Prior to being a principal resident, I was a fourth-grade math and science inclusion teacher at Baranoff Elementary. I also served as the Campus Innovation Coach (CIC), which led to many collaborations with the Baldwin CIC over the years, which is why I am so excited to serve this community!

Throughout my nine years in education, I taught 3rd-5th grade at Sims and Jordan Elementary, served as a cooperating teacher for Texas State and Region 13, earned my National Board Certification in Middle Childhood Generalist, and completed the Austin ISD Transformative Technology pathway. I hold another Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M (although, I am not an Aggie), and a Bachelors in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas.

During my free time, I love to watch college football and pull for my Texas Longhorns (although they break my heart more often than not). I have been married to a passionate Boston fan for a little over six years, so I also pull for the Patriots and Tom Brady. My husband, Drew, and I love to play golf, attempt to cook new recipes together, and take our Corgi puppy, Windsor, for walks. We moved to Dripping Springs this past April, so we spend a lot of our weekends exploring the area. I also am an avid Peloton rider, shopper, traveler, and thriller novel reader.

I am so incredibly humbled and excited to serve you and the Baldwin community! I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you this year. It’s going to be Baldwin’s best year yet!
