I am incredibly honored and excited to continue my journey at Baldwin Elementary in a new role, partnering with such an outstanding staff and supportive community. With 20 years of experience in education, I remain deeply committed to fostering a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and empowered to grow both academically and personally.

For the past 10 years, I have served in elementary administration as both an assistant principal and principal. These roles have been incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to continuing my work as a proud Bobcat. The joy I find in working with children is truly immeasurable. I feel privileged each day to help guide and support young learners on their educational path.

On a personal note, my husband Caleb and I met at Texas State University and have two wonderful children. Colby, who will be entering 3rd grade, and Chance, a rising 7th grader. As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, watching sports, attending college football games, and being with our two dogs, Zoey and Diesel.

I am passionate about the work we do here at Baldwin and am eager for the opportunities this new school year will bring. Here's to another incredible year together!

Assistant Principal - Dr. Lori Schunka

I am honored to join the Baldwin Elementary community as your assistant principal. From my first visit to Baldwin, I could tell this is a special place where relationships matter, learning is celebrated, and children are surrounded by adults who care deeply about them. I am excited to become part of this incredible community.

For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a teacher, instructional coach, curriculum developer, and university instructor. Along the way, I earned my Ph.D. in School Improvement from Texas State University, but the most important lesson I’ve learned is that strong schools are built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping every child grow.

I believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and like they truly belong. When students know they are cared for, they develop the confidence to wonder, take risks, and discover what is possible. My goal is to partner with our teachers, staff, and families to create the conditions where every Baldwin Bear can thrive.

When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me exploring the outdoors with my camera, birdwatching or kayaking. I love mystery novels with beautiful settings, jigsaw puzzles, playing board games and Legos. My grown children, Evan and Maia, will tell you I also enjoy a good pun.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and to an amazing year of learning together.
