Principal's Corner

Principal Jennifer Murray

Principal Jennifer Murray

I am thrilled to address you as the proud principal of Baldwin Elementary School, embarking on our journey into the 21st century filled with exploration, imagination, and creativity every single day. With over 30 years in the field of education, I am deeply committed to fostering a nurturing environment where every child feels secure, both physically and academically.
My journey in education has been enriched by diverse experiences, including 15 years of teaching spanning from 3rd to 6th grade, followed by three years as an instructional facilitator, and twelve years in administration. Each role has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and the joy it brings to our lives.
My family, rooted in love and support, has been a constant source of inspiration. I've been married to my wonderful husband, James, for 30 years, and together we've raised three incredible children. Garrett, our eldest, is now working in San Antonio and about to be married to his fiance, Sophie. Zachary, our middle child, graduated from Texas Tech University, and is now applying his learning at a job in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Meanwhile, Mackenzie, our youngest, is about to embark on her senior year at Valdosta State in Georgia, where she continues to excel in both academics and athletics.

As a family, we've journeyed through various cities, including Austin, Chicago, Plano, and back to Austin before settling in Dripping Springs, Texas, where I've had the privilege of serving our community for the past decade.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I find immense joy in supporting my children's pursuits, whether cheering them on from the sidelines of sporting events or attending their academic and extracurricular activities. Their achievements fill me with pride, and being their biggest fan is truly a joyous privilege.
At Baldwin Elementary, our mission is to cultivate an environment where children are encouraged to embrace learning, take risks, and flourish into confident individuals prepared for the future. We recognize the importance of allowing children to be children, fostering a balance between structured education and the freedom to explore and play.
I extend a warm invitation to each of you to visit Baldwin Elementary and witness firsthand the incredible journey of learning and growth happening within our walls. Together, let us continue to nurture and empower the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and dreamers.

Assistant Principal Amber Reue

Reue

I’m Mrs. Reue and I am so excited to be a part of the Baldwin Family as one of your Assistant Principals! Education is my passion. I have been in education for 24 years and have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades. For 12 of these years, I had the honor of working with Texas State University in the Teacher Fellows Graduate Program coaching first-year teachers. Within these years, I mentored 39 first-year teachers, kindergarten through fifth grade, so I am familiar with all of the elementary grade levels. I have also worked in professional development for novice teachers and their mentors. I enjoy seeing people learn, grow, and accomplish their goals. There will be many celebrations as you learn, grow, and accomplish your goals too! Elementary school is the best! I am so glad to be a Baldwin Bobcat!

My family is very important to me. You will often hear me tell stories about things going on in my life, so I would like to introduce you to my family: My husband, James, is a software engineer and my best friend. We like to hang out together and cheer on our kids. My son Cade is in high school. He loves video games, playing golf on his high school golf team, and playing the saxophone in the marching band. My daughter Camille is also in high school. She is on the high school golf team, in their cosmetology program and excels at being athletic. My Golden Retriever, Daisy, loves to swim in the pool, go on long walks, and sleep! She also loves people, cats, and other dogs.

I am honored to work with the families and staff of Baldwin Elementary as we partner to support students in a learner-centered environment where all children can reach their potential.

Assistant Principal Alexandra Hassett

hassett

Hello! My name is Alex Hassett and I am elated to continue to serve the Bobcat community!

I am truly a lifelong learner and am passionate about ensuring that all our students have equitable access to rigorous, personalized learning. Throughout my ten years in education, I taught 3rd-5th grade at Sims, Jordan, and Baranoff Elementary, served as a cooperating teacher for Texas State and Region 13, earned my National Board Certification (Middle Childhood Generalist), and completed the Austin ISD Transformative Technology pathway and The University of Texas Principal Leadership Academy Residency. I hold a Masters of Educational Leadership and Policy from The University of Texas, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M (although, I am not an Aggie), and a Bachelors in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas. I also currently serve as a mentor for The University of Texas Principal Leadership Academy and support mentees in both Austin ISD and San Antonio ISD.

During my free time, I love to watch college football and pull for my Texas Longhorns. I have been married to a passionate Boston fan for a little over seven years, so I also cheer for the Patriots on Sundays. My husband, Drew, and I love to play golf, attempt to cook new recipes, and take our Corgis, Windsor and Lady, for walks. I also am an avid Peloton rider, shopper, traveler, pickleball player, and thriller novel reader.

I am incredibly humbled and excited to continue serving you and the Baldwin community!
