How your child pays for food in the cafeteria

Each child is provided a personal identification number (PIN) for a cafeteria account. There are 2 methods for adding funds to your child’s cafeteria account:

  1. Send cash in an envelope with your child’s name, grade, teacher, and amount enclosed. (the cafeteria cannot accept personal checks).

-OR –

  1. Parents can create a new account online through School Cafe or by downloading the SchoolCafe mobile application, available on Apple and Android devices. Through SchoolCafe, parents can make payments, view purchase history, receive low balance alerts, apply for free or reduced price meals and view school menus. (Note: To initiate an account you will need your child’s student ID number, which you can obtain through the AISD Portal).

With either option, any balances at the end of the year will carry over to the next school year.

What’s on the Menu

AISD develops different menus for each school level. Lunch menus are designed to meet one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances for calories, protein, iron, calcium, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Additionally the menus are analyzed to assure that the week does not exceed 30 percent of calories from fat or 10 percent of calories from saturated fat. Sodium, cholesterol and fiber and monitored as well.

You can view the menu through SchoolCafe online or by downloading the mobile app on Apple and Android devices. Create a parent account or "Sign in as a Guest" and select Baldwin Elementary School to view the menus which contain nutritional and allergen information, allow for dish feedback and select favorite menu items.

Just a reminder that campus is closed to lunch visits until Monday, September 5th. This is to allow teachers and students the opportunity to acclimate to the school environment as well as allowing us to provide opportunities to establish procedures in the school.
